Oh My!

Here is the Asian Pinwheel Quilt (formerly known as the Asian Table Runner!). I finished sewing all the pinwheels put together tonight and am now letting it brew for ideas about a border.

It is currently at 36′ square.

Any suggestions?

In this top there are….. wait for it….. 400 800* half square triangles which are 2.25′ square(ish). I was naughty and did not square any of them up. There was no way I was going to stand there for who knows how many hours doing that!

So it is a bit dodgy if you look at it closely however, I know that when it gets quilted it will be fine.

I’ll be quilting this one myself as well. I can see a lot of “stunt quilting” in my future; to quote Tara!

I’m thinking that although it is made in my favourite fabrics I don’t really need another quilt so I’m contemplating giving it to a friend that does crafty work that can appreciate the work and the 400 800* half square triangles that are in it!

I’m going to send a pic to her and see if she likes it. The last thing I want to do is give her a quilt that she doesn’t like (and it has happened).

I then moved onto finishing quilting the placemats. I have about 6 more to quilt and then 10 to sew the binding on.

Once, I’ve done that I’ll start sewing the binding onto the 3 that are quilted ready for me to sit down with them and hand sew them and the placemats together.

From there I’ll quilt Heart Love, bind that and then pin, baste, quilt and bind this quilt and then I’ll be all caught up!

Oh no, sorry, I forgot the other 7 placemats and the 4 xmas ones as well.

*sigh*

I’ll get there soon.

*edit: as Sam has pointed out there are actually 800 half square triangles. I was actually counting the white and the coloured triangle unit. Can I blame lack of sleep on my bad math skills? 🙂

Tonight I was supposed to go to TAFE however, the lecturer was sick so it was canceled. So now, I have 4 weeks of homework to do!! Thank God for the coming long weekend. I think I’ll be studying my butt off!!

So, with my “free” afternoon I was going to start learning the choreography for Pump and RPM however that idea lasted as long as it took for me to get in front of My Precioussss.

And once again I’ll leave you with a pic of my very cute assistant! He’s so gorgeous. I just want to eat him up! 😀

  1. Hey Emma!

It’s 400 white and coloured triangle units but I guess if you count them individually then yes, it is 800.

Wow, that is a lot of triangles!
